This is how we lower costs.

Since President Trump took office, the average Colorado family has spent $310 more on groceries. Just this year, Colorado families have spent nearly $800 more on gas and electricity and $554 more on rent or mortgage payments. Healthcare deductibles are up more than $1,000 on average.
Added together, it’s thousands of dollars coming out of your wallet. That’s money that could be spent on child care. Retirement savings. A down payment on a car.
Trump’s Tariffs, his war with Iran, and his tax bill for billionaires did this.

Tawny and Ron T. showed me their utility bill when I met them in Globeville this week. It was $512 for just electricity. And they don’t even have AC! Tawny, who’s in her seventies, cuts her prescriptions in half, or skips days, so they can pay part of their bill and keep the lights on.

Jana manages a grocery store in Aurora. She watches Coloradans take food out of their bags at checkout, one by one, when they realize they don’t have any money left to cover everything.
Most presidents can’t be tied so directly to the economy’s swings. Trump can.
His “One Big Beautiful Bill,” slashed $1 trillion from Medicaid, the Affordable Care Act, and SNAP, programs that help middle and low income families afford health care and food. Instead,Trump handed those benefits to the ultra-wealthy through tax cuts.
His tariffs are taxes on imports. Importers pay them, and pass the cost on to you.
The final blow? His war with Iran. Now every single product that is made or transported gets more expensive.
We live in the wealthiest country in the world. But here in Colorado people are skipping prescriptions and leaving groceries at the register.
Here’s our job: End this war with Iran. Restore SNAP and Medicaid. Bring your bills down. We won’t stop fighting until we do.
