Major housing win! 🏆🏠

Hi team,

We’re proud to share that the long-overdue 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act is officially law. This is a major victory for working families, affordable housing, and the future of homeownership in America. John worked alongside Senator Elizabeth Warren to get this done.

This landmark legislation is the most consequential housing bill passed in decades. It will help build more homes, lower costs for homebuyers, expand housing opportunities for veterans, and prevent Wall Street from dominating the housing market.

Watch John breakdown the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act and what it means for Colorado.

One of John’s top priorities in Congress is making sure homeownership is within reach for working families. You shouldn’t have to balance two or three jobs and hardly make rent, let alone buy a home. But that’s the reality so many Coloradans face and why John worked so hard to get key provisions included in the bill.

Homeownership has always been one of the best pathways for families to build wealth and should be places where families can build their futures. Homes should not just be assets for Wall Street investors looking to make profit.

These corporations have spent years buying up homes in communities across the country, driving up costs, and making it harder for first-time buyers to compete. Our bill took on those corporate interests. Now companies will be banned from buying up homes.

The 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act didn’t stop there. It will also cut federal red tape to help us build more housing and expand federal programs to make it cheaper for veterans to afford to buy a home. We’re also investing in alternative ways to make housing cheaper like expanding manufactured and modular housing. We’re talking about no-brainer solutions like eliminating an outdated regulation that required manufactured homes to be built in a way for them to always be moveable – even when homeowners didn’t want that. That simple fix will likely save homebuyers up to $10,000 alone.

We know there’s so much more to do, but this is a major win and it’s been long overdue. Our bipartisan bill passed in Congress back in June, and yet spent weeks sitting on President Trump’s desk.

Why did he keep Americans waiting for relief? He refused to sign the bill unless Congress passed his voter suppression bill. Oh, and he was preoccupied approving billions for his illegal war with Iran, ballroom, and tax cuts for his Epstein class buddies.

But, we passed our bill with such strong backing that he didn’t dare veto it. Now, the legislation is officially law – without any thanks to him.

This major win isn’t the start – or end – of John’s work. He’s already brought more than $62 million for specific housing-focused projects across the state. We’re talking projects like millions to convert old hotels into apartments in mountain towns. John also worked with the Colorado delegation to deliver more than $500 million in federal funding for affordable housing investments thanks to the American Rescue Plan.

John knows that unaffordable housing is only one piece of the problem. He’s dead set on tackling the cost-of-living emergency that Trump has unleashed. He’s fighting to end Trump’s tariffs and illegal war with Iran that are driving up prices and crushing small businesses, ranchers, and farmers. He’s working to reverse the disastrous health care cuts that are forcing millions to lose their health insurance or pay more for their health care.

These battles won’t be easy but we won’t give up because we’re in this fight because of you. Thank you for standing with us as we take on the big challenges facing Coloradans.
