Team,
Four years ago, our Inflation Reduction Act was signed into law.
It is the largest climate investment in our nation’s history, completely unleashing Colorado’s clean energy potential with $373 billion in climate change investments. It also cut pollution for the communities that experience the worst of it. Cheaper, cleaner, more reliable electricity for rural Coloradans: that’s a win-win-win!
Since the Inflation Reduction Act was passed, people have saved hundreds of thousands of dollars on health care, hundreds on their electricity bills, and seniors have paid less for prescription drugs.
We also created thousands of jobs. Colorado families saved hundreds on health care costs, while reducing the deficit, tackling inflation, and making large corporations pay their fair share.
But since Trump and MAGA Republicans have taken control of Congress, they’ve set out to roll back our successes. Trump’s Big Ugly Bill cut many of these energy and health care programs. He even announced that he’d end a Medicare program we created to lower medication prices for seniors. Trump’s ripped away clean energy funding for states that didn’t vote for him.
This anniversary is a reminder of what’s at stake in November. If MAGA keeps their control of Congress, they’ll continue chipping away at our progress and further attack our health care and environment. We need to win back Congress to stop them.
We won’t stop fighting back because our climate and our communities don’t have time to wait.
Thank you for standing with us,
John
